HP Officejet 5255 Troubleshooting

  • When the network connection is not established, check the network cables, and if it is a wireless network, place the printer near the router network.
  • If the printer is not printing, then verify the printer settings on the computer. The paused or stopped print jobs can be the reason behind this, so delete the printing tasks that are stuck in the print queue.
  • The print quality can become poor if the print head is not correctly aligned. In such a case, realign and clean the print head.
  • When other brand ink cartridges are used for printing, the printer may not detect the ink cartridges. Therefore, use only the original HP ink cartridges that are supported.
  • The paper that is used for printing should be of good quality, using damp or wrinkled paper can make the prints turn bad.

Hp Officejet 5255 Paper Tray

When the printer tray does not close, try out these steps:

  • Remove the power cord and wait for a few minutes.
  • Again, connect the power cord and switch on the printer.
  • Once the printer becomes stable, check if there are materials stuck inside the printer.
  • If there is a problem with the ink cartridges, reinstall the ink cartridges. Make sure to close the ink cartridge access door.

There can be a paper jam also which may cause the printer tray not to close. Remove the jammed paper from the printer by following the procedure :

  • Turn on the printer.
  • Open the input paper tray and take out the paper that is stuck.
  • Place the input tray into the printer.
  • Switch off the printer and other cables connected to the printer.
  • Rotate and place the printer on its side to check the printer bottom.
  • Now, draw the input tray outwards and then check for the jammed paper.
  • Slowly push the input tray into the printer.
  • Bring the printer to the normal position, then check if there are any papers inside the printer.
  • Power on the printer and try to print once again.
