Step 1: Unpacking the printer

  • Take out the printer from the packing box and remove all the protective covers, tapes, and plastic films outside the printer.
  • Open the ink cartridge access door and remove the packing papers inside it. Then, close the top door.
  • Pull out the input paper tray and dispose of all tapes on it. Push the tray to fix it back to the printer.

Step 2: Turning on Power and settings

  • Connect the power cord on the rear side of the printer and plug in the other end to an AC outlet.
  • Turn on the printer and press the Power button.
  • Set the initial required settings on the printer using the touchscreen display of the printer.
  • Tap on the Settings icon and set your language and region. Then press OK.

Step 3: Installing the ink cartridges

  • Open the top ink access door to install the cartridges.
  • The carriage stops moving after coming to its left portion.
  • Unpack the color cartridge and remove the packing tapes on it. Hold its black plastic part to fix the cartridge into the correct slot.
  • Raise the lid of the slot and insert the cartridge on the right slot.
  • Fix the other ink cartridge in the same way.
  • The nozzles of cartridges should be fixed towards the printer. Close the lid.
  • Ensure that the cartridges are placed on their appropriate slots matching the color on the lid.
  • After installing the ink cartridges, close the ink cartridge access door and tap OK on the touchscreen.

Step 4: Loading Paper

  • Pull the input paper tray and adjust the paper guides according to the size of the paper to be loaded.
  • Align the stack of paper on a flat surface and ensure to remove any folded papers.
  • Start loading paper into the paper input tray. Ensure to load the paper stack only below the maximum paper mark. You can load 250 sheets of paper at a time.
  • Make sure the paper guides don’t fold the corner edges of the paper. 
  • Push the paper input tray completely into the printer. Tap Done on the touchscreen display.
  • Raise the paper output tray extender by pulling out the output tray gently.

Step 6: Aligning the ink cartridges

  • Touch the OK button on the control panel to print the alignment page.
  • Open the scanner cover and place the printed document on the scanner glass.
  • Now, close the scanner cover and tap on the Scan icon on the touchscreen of the printer.
  • The printer begins the aligning process. Wait for the process to complete and then tap OK.

Step 7: Installing software

  • Insert the installation CD into the CD drive of your device to begin the setup.
  • You can also download the software from the official website of the printer and select your region.
  • Navigate to the Support page and select the Software and Drivers tab.
  • Enter the printer’s model number and click Submit.
  • Choose your operating system and select All drivers.
  • Download the required software to use the printer from your device.

Step 8: Type of connection

  • You can connect the printer and device by wired or wireless connection.
  • In the software, select your mode of connection, either wired or wireless.
  • To connect with a wired connection, connect the printer and device directly using a USB cable.
  • For a wireless connection, connect your computer to the wireless network using the network credentials.
  • On the printer’s touchscreen, go to Settings.
  • Navigate to select Wireless settings and turn on the Wireless option.
  • Tap on the Wireless Setup Wizard to select your network name from the list. Enter the password of your network.
  • Proceed with the instructions on the software to complete the installation process.
